What's the Right Call?

A judgment game for T&S teams. Draw a dilemma. Defend your call.

Play in your next standup, calibration session, or onboarding. Pick a platform context, draw a card, give everyone a minute to think, then go around the room. There’s no right answer, that’s the point.

Social media

What’s the right call?

A user with 2.3 million followers posts a video describing their personal experience with an eating disorder in detail, including specific behaviors and numbers. It opens with “If you’re struggling, please reach out to a professional.” It has 400,000 views in 6 hours; the comments are split between users who say it helped them feel less alone and users who say the detail is triggering. Your eating-disorder policy prohibits content that “instructs or encourages disordered eating” but doesn’t address first-person experience sharing.

Discussion questions

  1. 01 Does the disclaimer change your decision, and if so, what is it actually doing here?
  2. 02 The same content is experienced very differently by different users. How much weight does community response carry in your call?
  3. 03 If you remove it, what message does that send to the creator and the users who found it helpful, and is that the message you want to send?
